Aisling

Background

I’m Aisling, a tarot reader and witch from Dublin, Ireland.
Growing up in Ireland I had the rare opportunity to learn the Irish language and become truly immersed in our rich history and even richer mythology. My interest in all things spiritual, spooky and occult began at an early age. Despite my family being practicing Catholics, my dad (whose great grandmother was also a witch) always maintained a certain duality between his Catholicism and a wholehearted belief in the supernatural. He tried to instill that in me, and he almost did! I’m not a Catholic, a fact which brought my mother to actual tears, but I did dive headfirst into all kinds of paganism and spirituality. From my childhood I already knew about Morrigan and Fionn MacCumhaill, but I started learning about the Buddha, Hel, Hermeticism and Thelema. I got my first tarot deck at just 12 years old and I’m still learning now.
These days I work as a body piercer and laser technician as well as reading tarot. I’ve met some of the most wonderful people through these passions of mine and that’s what really keeps me going. When you do this you see people at their best and at their worst and most importantly, you guide them through it calmly and safely. I mention this because, despite my job title at any given time, my vocation is helping people.
To give you a better idea of how I am as opposed to who I am, I’ll give you some quick-fire facts about myself:
I am bisexual, in a relationship with the most wonderful man I’ve ever met. We have a cat named Guts, whom I love very much. I am not religious, I am, however agnostic, I believe that the truth is beyond me and I’m ok with that; we can’t know everything. I believe that all people should be equal regardless of skin colour, orientation, ability, gender expression or any other silly reason humans have come up with over time to divide us. No matter who you are, no matter what you look like, no matter how you were built, I would love to get to know you.

Experience

As I mentioned earlier, I got my first tarot deck at the age of 12. I studied and memorized and studied and memorized with the fervor that only an obsessed pre-teen can display. I spent two years doing that, practicing on myself and learning to really listen to what the cards were telling me. By the time I was 14 I was reading for family, friends and anyone who would let me. Not much has changed. I had read for friends of friends, curious strangers and other people for years before my own Mam (the very same one) told me that I “shouldn’t hide a gift like that away from the world”. Now, I didn’t think I was hiding anything, but when she compared it to my other work I understood. I could help a lot more people if I advertised my skills. Here I am, and I would be delighted to help!

Methods

I was told a story about when I was about 2 or 3 years old: I would sit on my bed chatting happily away to someone my parents couldn’t see. When they asked me who I was talking to I told them it was my nana, and when they asked me some questions about her I gave answers I couldn’t have had, because my nana had been dead some 13 years before I was born. I hesitate to call myself a medium, but I do believe that my family and friends I have lost guide me in a way. Even without tools like tarot to channel the energy, I have prophetic dreams semi frequently. Divination is a part of my life, it’s a language I speak and through the use of the tarot I seek to translate the messages I receive to you.
